All Around the World Statues Crumble for Me

Have I ever shared how much I appreciate when one is just a little bit over the line between arrogant and confident? Yes, a toe into the arrogant zone, maybe a whole leg. Listen sincere confidence is hard sometimes. Sometimes one does have to fake it, or at least that's been my experience. If someone appears truly confident, a socially acceptable level, I'm like I don't know if I can roll with you. What if it really is 100% sincere?  If I catch you acting a little arrogant, just a little, then I know you have something, I may not know the specific thing, but ya flashed your cards a little, and now I know there's something you're not so confident about. I love a contradiction, and I know I have said that here before.

I had plans. I had plans to go to Vegas. Said that here back in December when I was so very confident it was a done deal. Wasn't a paid deal, but hey little bravado and suddenly the universe is manifesting your every wish. Or at least that's been my experience.

I had plans to go to the art museum. Mandatory vanilla day, right? Were we Insta friends? You've
seen me post about Mandatory vanilla day. No one sent the memo to the intended museum that Monday's are the best day of the week.

See, I need an assistant. Because also, Mistress Cassidy didn't bother to check the museum's website for their posted hours.

Whatever, found a way cool new-to-me playground and that's as cool as an art museum on mandatory vanilla day. And I heard Sugar Ray, who at 20-something I thought was just way too arrogant but at 47, I'm like ya I hear you.

The event I wished to attend in Vegas was cancelled the night before. The universe grants my every wish, except when it would be best for me if it doesn't.

I have new plans. Hold your breath. I'm going to master this thing called patience because I am so fucking over the pop quizzes.

Travel plans will be posted when the tickets are in my inbox or maybe when we're in the air.

So Much Love for Why Bee Normal

This, by the way, is the sort of thing I most often posted to Instagram.
Actually that's not true. This is what about 50% of my recent posts looked like, I was working on editing older posts. Mistress Danielle recently gave me a private tutorial about creating an IG color palette. Who's Mistress Danielle? Hold your breath and thank Instagram, because now I need to craft a new way to introduce her. She's wicked important, I don't wish her intro to be half-assed.
In older posts you'd find mentions of how Castle Cassidy smelled like apples and cinnamon, and how much I love Mondays.
In my story you would have seen shout-outs for professionals, artists, and indie businesses. When I say cool kids support their friends projects, I practice what I preach. It's a thing that's important to me.
I won't stay angry very much longer. The truth of the matter is I haven't settled back into Insta since the first time I was suspended. My following wasn't anywhere close to what it had been before. The timing was really unfortunate though.
Ms Pixie and I just launched another collab. Do you remember, we did one last year around Valentine's day too. This is her work:  WhyBeeNormal  She specializes in non-pierced nipple and genital jewelry. She has a half a dozen styles for attaching, from totally comfy rock it under your clothing all day to please sir it's swelling, please don't ever stop.
What? Where am I?
Oh right, Pixie. She's expanded what she offers so much since last year. There's the Story of O anklets like I am rocking above, she's introduced a few items for men, and a new style of labia jewelry that I am so in love with. Wanna see? By the time this posts, if I stay on schedule, there should be a whole collection of photos showcasing them on my OnlyFans.  And probably some like this on Snap and Twitter. See, I totes follow community guidelines.

It's Been Some Time Since We Last Spoke....

This is gonna sound like a bad joke...
No one knew I was jamming to Doja Cat, Tia Tamera in the last post. Woah, sad face. My twins big like Tia, Tia Tamara. Well not mine really, but....<look at me keeping a secret with just tiny, pay attention or you'll miss them, bread crumbs>.  I think this title will prove easier.
My intention today actually is not a Dear Diary entry. The current playlist is for another entry, the one future me is writing around the end of February. <ya hungry? There's an easter egg for a select few>
I so miss the sound when the record changes. Some Youtuber should create it and then let that be the commercial break when we're drifting.
I believe in the sand beneath my toes I swear, I had no idea the lyrics were all drug references until it had imprinted itself deep. I thought we were on a dance floor when we bumped again and then bumped again. Because I do believe in the faith that grows and the right four chords can make me cry. Totes missed that he was taking sips of it to his nose. Eww.
I intended to type about fetishes today. Just a primer, and maybe I'll share one of mine. Have we met? I'm all about sharing, oversharing even.
The first response on Google defines "fetish" as, a form of sexual desire in which gratification is linked to an abnormal degree to a particular object, item of clothing, part of the body, etc.
Does anyone look further than the first response on Google?
I disagree, and I have as much authority as Google to define what it means to have a fetish. My biggest objection is the use of the word "abnormal".
Someone, sorry I forget who so I can not bump ya, I follow on Twitter posted something like, "Is that a real thing, a pot smoking fetish?". Dozens of people had already schooled her, so I skipped it. I was more taken back by, is it a thing that people in the adult industry don't know the basics of fetishes? I know, my meter is out of kilter with the mainstream, but is it out of sync even in the small offshoots?
Anything can be a bookmark, your grandma can be a bookmark. Oops, wrong hat. That reference was way obscure. If you know it, I'll grant you official status among the cool kids. No Google cheating though. Either you know it or you don't, I will know if you are a poser.
Anything can be a fetish. and in and of itself, that is completely normal. Your fetish may be odd, your tastes may be obscure, but having a fetish is normal.
Mistress Cassidy does indeed have the authority to declare such things.
I don't recall how young I was the first time I encountered the word fetish. My dictionary at the time suggested that it was when a person could only achieve arousal by engaging with the object of their fetish. This lead a past me to contemplate if that meant that many men were putting their bits in shoes, and to be petrified of what women who liked shoes may be doing with them.
If anyone is still holding onto a definition like that, let me free you. That definition is more dated than my fondness for yellow disks in the center of black disks and the sound they make when the arm moves the next one in rotation onto the spindle.
I have a fondness for records. It triggers a nostalgic break for me. I do not have a fetish for records.
I propose that most people have a fetish, or several in their wiring. It isn't just my involvement in the BDSM community that has lead me to believe this, but because of that I am not bashful about asking people what excites them. I am also in tune to hear the difference between when a person is talking about a thing they are fond of and a thing that excites them in other ways.
Let's do this. When you read the next sentence you are going to join what was a very exclusive group, People Who Know One of Mistress Cassidy's Fetishes. Ready? I have a thing for striped shirts. I have a fondness for stripes in general. I like orderly things, but artistically pleasing orderly things. This is different. There are a couple types of striped shirts, that when worn by people with certain body types, that just...um...omi. I can feel my eyes dilate. I can hear my pulse quicken. Whoever is wearing it will have my undivided for at least a minute. Have we met? A minute of my undivided is a thing of note. I will not violate this person's boundaries. If they are a tool, my fascination with them will end in about a minute. I have had many, many magical moments with not a striped shirt in sight or even in my imagination. A fetish is not a compulsion. It is not a requirement. It is simply an atypical arousal response to what's probably a rather mundane thing. Chances are, even if you hold a more popular fetish, like say feet, your particular angle, is likely unique. It is not abnormal, but rather another one of those ways we are each different, just like everybody else.

Clerks and Clients

Dominatrix Log Day 111:  I have been here, in paradise, for so long. The weather is always perfect. When it rains it rains hard, with a roaring sound track and an explosive light show. Save an occasional gentle rain, which is just as wonderful. Peaceful, cleansing, it inspires one to whisper. When the sun is out, it is loud and proud.  Over all summaration, it is nearly perfect. It lacks only in inhabitants. Aside from the small ones I brought with me, it would seem that paradise is populated exclusively with clerks and clients.

Indulge my silliness, I saw my friends yesterday. I returned to my tribe yesterday. My soul was fed, and I overindulged in revisiting happy memories and imagining future adventures.

For those who's playbill may not include the first acts, Mistress Cassidy left Massachusetts about 9 months ago. I returned to Richmond, a place where I lived before and never wished to leave. The space with the highest concentration of the people I love. The location itself is insignificant to me although as settings go I like it well enough. Culture, art, and the comfort of familiarity. It's only flaws are that it is too far from the ocean, and it required more energy than reasonable to rebuild my business. It could be done. The BDSM community in general is strong. Those who would engage with a professional though are shy. They are understandably leery of a new domme in an area that has been without one of note for so long. There is much I love about Richmond, but the voluminous nature of my responsibilities dictates that I do not have the luxury of patience while rebuilding my business. In February I revisited my business plan. I looked at the projects I had underway with my partners.I sought the council of my accountant and of my business mentor. I did not ask the opinions of my friends in Richmond or Massachusetts. I knew what their opinions would be, and I knew that neither was on the table. Massachusetts for me has financial security and puts my safety at risk. Richmond has emotional support and financial devastation. Push the last of the chips all in, go closer to the ocean and to a larger potential client base. I am reminded every day and give thanks every evening that I made the right choice.
I love it here. My complex is beautiful, and secure. The vanilla things I require, a good library, museums, and an Asian market where I can access my unconventional culinary choices, are here in abundance. Asian markets, for those not in the know, are Whole Foods produce with WalMart price tags. If one sustains themself on bone broth & bee pollen, one should find an Asian market. Thank you for following me on this little side path, it isn't crucial to the story but nutrition is another of Mistress Cassidy's passions.
I love it here. My business is seeing amazing growth. Pacing how to expand, while maintaining balance between career & personal life, will require thought to navigate. Sometimes I am inclined to say a thing is tricky to navigate. Tricky is a fave word of Dahlia's, navigate is a fave of my own. Yet here, the navigation isn't tricky it just requires thoughtfulness. Intelligence, experience, and commitment, in the scene, in business and to my personal responsibilities; the people in my life bring these things in abundance. How blessed and fortunate am I.
About a week ago I was bemoaning to my top that I hadn't spoken to a person in real life who wasn't a clerk or a client since Dahlia headed back to New England a month ago. My clients are wonderful, interesting and engaging people. However, it would be completely inappropriate to share with them the funny thing that happened at the butterfly park the other day. Clerks in the south (among the many reasons I love living right here where the Mason-Dixon line bisects the nation) are so welcoming. It is completely appropriate to hold up a line to share the funny photo from the park. Yet completely inappropriate to ask the clerk of your Asian market if she thinks the short or long grain rice would be more uncomfortable to kneel on if one were trying to break a wiggly submissive of his wiggling tendencies. Go figure.
Yesterday I spent time with my tribe. Park day plans were made. The subtle difference between the definitions of gender fluid and gender non-conforming were thoughtfully debated.  I could switch gears between sharing recipes that one can work chia seeds into, and the stories from my double with Mistress Lady X last week, smoothly and effortlessly. (Sidenote for the voyeurs in the room:  I may share aforementioned stories on Fetlife once I verify consent. Watch for them.) My boi gave me my Christmas present. He cross-stitched this for me.

I saw my tribe yesterday. I affirmed that every single thing I need for my personal wellness and my professional success is right here. Easily accessible, and ready to be engaged.
Welcome to Paradise. Visits are by invitation only, and at my discretion. Your submission and servitude will determine how pleasurable your experience will be.  Now on your knees so the festivities may begin.

I Love Living in the Future

This is another of those entries that have been on the idea board for some time. I have decided it will be in two parts. The second will share my thoughts on how to have a successful long distant dynamic.  The title came to me like 2 months ago. I was in my bed early after a very busy day, but I still had to tend my nutritional needs. I placed my second order ever with Uber Eats, and realized I didn't even have to get up to grab my purse because my card info was stored in my phone. Spontaneously, and with absolute sincerity, the title burst from my mouth. It may have included an F-bomb. That's it Cassidy, skip turning into your mother and go directly to channeling your grandmother. Gather the TNG'ers around and teach them of the hardships of life back in the stone age. When a lazy dinner meant having to call the pizza place on the telephone, that may have been wired to a wall in a room other than your bedroom, and how you had to have paper money in your wallet when the driver arrived.
Then tell them about your first long distance relationships. When to keep in touch meant paying $99 a month, in addition to your base rate, for 1 hour of talk time. If I recall correctly it was $1.00 per minute after the first 60. Or one could put pen to paper, proclaim their devotion and share the minutia of their day in words. For a mere 25 cents the postal service would take up to an ounce of your words to your beloved anywhere, rain or shine. Of course it would be a week later that your beloved would hear your words. I did love writing to my long distance partners and I still do. Thoughts shared on paper will always hold a special place for me, I love words. My long distance partners of long ago, were often a bit quieter on paper. In my first long distance relationships, mismatched budgets, schedules and inclination to express one's self on paper sometimes left me questioning if my partner so far away thought of me as often as I thought of them.
Yet the people I shared those relationships with are, in varying capacities, still in my life today. It seems to me now that a person who would invest even a couple words via a call or card, when there is little to no irl time, valued any and all time spent together.
All of the words above have been written a half a dozen times. This is the spot where I realize the post is going to go all Dear Diary if I continue to revisit thoughts of people on Memory Lane, and that is not where I am intending to go today.
Today I intend to talk about now. I intend to talk about the amazing, complex, long distance dynamics I have now, and how they are enhanced by the distance that separates us.
Let's start with recognizing the word that is pluralized. Dynamics. I suppose this may have been an option for some people 20+ years ago. Incredibly progressive, bold people, who were able to find other like minded partners without the help of the internet. While I have always been quite bold and progressive, finding like minded partners was not a thing I was able to do as a young adult. I once tried diligently to explain to my Texas boyfriend that it was perfectly reasonable I should also have a Massachusetts boyfriend. Both my Texas and Massachusetts best friends agreed with Texas boyfriend that I was completely unreasonable. Today my top understands my needs, and encourages anything that is best for me. My muse and partner supports my other dynamics. She brings my pet to scene  and vanilla events so my sub knows she is not forgotten in my absence. My partner's primary partner teases me, in ways I love, with video chats during their play time. Not only would I literally not know these people I love if not for meeting them through virtual channels first, none of us would have the support to explore these alternative paths if not for having digital communities to share with and learn from.
Of course I would like to spend more time in person with these people I love, but I recognize there would be many trade-offs. From a distance, my pet appreciates the minutes I carve from my day to share with her. How neglected would she feel if I were down the street but still only had minutes in a day for her? Those minutes are just as scarce in my life no matter where I am. My partner is a dominant, take-charge woman. From a distance, when we share ideas for managing our vanilla responsibilities and our professional lives, it is helpful. If we were sharing a home, she may not understand that there is actually only one way to fold a towel correctly. My top has a schedule as full and as variable as my own. I have no desire to neglect or feel neglected. At this time, these relationships occupy precisely the right amount of space. The time I spend virtually and in person with each is special, valued, and magical.

Finally Mistress Sarah's First Session!!!

It has been quite some time since I last posted about apprenticing Mistress Sarah. Perhaps my faithful but mute readers thought that I had scared her off or something. That wasn't what happened at all. Mistress Sarah's day gig has a seasonal component to it, summer is her busiest time of year and this summer, in particular, was swamped for her.  We touched base a few times over the summer while waiting for her schedule to ease up a bit, and now that Labor Day has passed Mistress Sarah has time to swing her flogger.  Hooray!
My initial plan was to head to the studio for a few hours of non-sessioning work; work on some hypnosis recordings, update the blog and my fingers were crossed that the photographer I'm working with would be available to take some pictures for me. My morning went all shades of wrong, with assorted vanilla errands that I was unsuccessful in completing through no fault of my own. Then the photographer let me know that she wasn't going to be available. Last I had checked in with Mistress Sarah it didn't seem like our schedules were going to line up either. But then, largely because my errands didn't get accomplished, my open time changed to fit hers. Shortly after realizing that I got a text from a subbie I have known for ages but haven't sessioned with in a decade. He wanted to see if I had time that day. Normally I frown on same day appointments, do you think Mistress Cassidy sits around holding her breath for you to contact me? And legitimately, I can rarely make them fit into my schedule. But again, thanks to things not working out, I could this day. So a quick check with Ms. Sarah that she felt up for a warm body and verifying that my subbie would be cool being worked over by two Dommes, and a new, equally cool day fell into place.
Miss Sarah and I had a little bit of time before sub arrived. I shared some of my thoughts on what being a dominatrix is like, the things I might do differently if I knew then the things I know now. For what it's worth, there isn't much about my career trajectory that I would change. I didn't become a dominatrix through an apprenticeship route. I may have avoided some minor snafus over the years had I had a mentor, but I learned and grew from my mistakes.
My subbie arrived and became my prop for the next couple hours. At each step, I would stop the flow to explain why I did something or what might be different with someone I didn't know as well as this subbie. I showed her how I gauge how likely a sub is inclined to bruising. This sub wishes not to have lasting marks, so I showed Miss Sarah the tools I would use to accommodate that request. This sub arrived in a chastity device (remember Mistress Cassidy quite enjoys chastity devices), so subbie stood so I could show Miss Sarah some of the features of his model and explained how others might differ.   While subbie was restrained and blindfolded I motioned Mistress Sarah over to give the fur paddle a go. I wonder if subbie knew? Was there a noticeable difference in tempo or intensity? I have no idea, but it was fun to be an observer in my studio. I teased subbie with the possibility of not returning his cage key to him when he left. A completely empty threat when one is locked in a silicone cage. Of course, I returned his key to him so he wouldn't have to destroy his cage when he is ready to remove it. Later I also gave sub the option of release from his cage at the end of his session, and he wished to remain caged! I really would have loved to have retained his key, but this is not a collared subbie of mine. His obligation to chastity ends when he passes back over my threshold into the mundane world. Oh well, next caged subbie might be one who can carry our scene into the mundane & be the one who's key hangs on my necklace next.
I've had a quick check in with Mistress Sarah since our session, and I am thrilled to hear she enjoyed the session as much as I.

Puppy Play

Now that I am mentoring Mistress Sarah, I find myself revisiting my early days as a Dominatrix. What do I know now that I didn't know then? Where did I find my first customers? What did I bring to the scene and what did I learn on the job?
On my trip down memory lane, I recalled that my very first session was primarily focused on puppy play. All of my early ads mentioned puppy play within them. There were a couple of reasons for this. My business that went bankrupt a few years earlier was a pet store, I still had some stock left over that could be used as dungeon furniture and tools. Also, I had a better than average understanding of animal behavior and training techniques.  While areas of play that I was inexperienced with were a little intimidating in the beginning, I felt totally confident offering puppy play sessions. Many of my sessions in those early days included some puppy play, and it was quite enjoyable. Somewhere over the years though, it fell off my advertised interest list and now I can't remember the last time I had a request for it. It wasn't that I completely lost interest in it, I honestly don't recall when I stopped including it. Chances are I placed an ad that had a word limit on it, I edited it out for brevity and it never made it back into the next ad I ran.
Now having revisited it, I realize I miss those sessions. There are components I would add now that I hadn't thought of then and I suspect Mistress Sarah would find it an easy & fun introduction to professional sessions.
So I think I'm going to do some shopping this week. The first order of business is a good kennel. I'm inclined to buy this one:
It even comes in pink! Although it's out of stock right now, I'm sure if I looked beyond Amazon, I could find it. I like the open wire, I'll be able to see my puppy to ensure his safety and that he's not misbehaving while he's contained.

But then I was also looking at this one:

This is what I would use & recommend for an actual puppy. The molded plastic would feel cave-like to the pet inside. Actual canines appreciate a place that is all their own, perhaps my subbie puppies would also?
Then I think we would need this:
That's something I didn't have in those early days, but I very much want now. I wish it had some cheek spots to complete the look of a Doberman which it clearly looks modeled after.
Then there's just picking up a couple of feeding dishes, chew toys, and balls to chase.
How many of my mostly mute readers have tried puppy play? Is it something you enjoy? Or if you haven't experienced it, is it something you would like to try?

Exciting News to Share....

Mistress has decided to begin training a new apprentice. A couple weeks back I met with a lovely Dominant who was interested in both the room I have to rent and mentoring to me. We have talked & texted back and forth for some time now, and I think she's ready to move forward. The following is her self-description:
Hello! My name is Mistress Sarah. I have been involved with the BDSM lifestyle for about 7 years, dabbling in different areas and broadening my curiosities; opening my mind up to new adventures I never thought I'd try. I've always had an interest in the Dominatrix world, but was always too shy to explore it. An opportunity presented itself recently, and I think it's about time to hop on board! Mistress Cassidy has agreed to take me under her wing to mentor. Will you explore with me?
I may look shy and innocent, but don't let that fool you. I can be quite sadistic. I love to leave marks, I love to make people squirm and beg, and I love to cause physical pleasurable pain...even if it stings a little more than you wanted!
Hard Limits: blood play, mummification, knife play
Curious about: tickle play, female submissives, rope, medical play, and sissification
For now, I'd like some willing guinea pigs for Mistress Sarah to learn some basics about safe play and techniques with. Tomorrow, Thursday, we will be hosting half hour sessions for a special of tribute of $200. You will be allowed to choose between several specific fetishes that Mistress Sarah wishes to start with. I will be present, and ultimately responsible for safety & privacy, as always. Most of the day is booked already, but we do have some evening appointments still available. Mistress Sarah also has a full vanilla life, so getting our schedules to line up is proving challenging. I believe the next time we will have time available will be this Saturday, the 24th,  morning. If tomorrow evening doesn't fit, inquire now about Saturday- available times are being booked quickly. As always, a deposit is required from new-to-me subbies.
